Redirecting This Blog

In the past this blog has served as a creative outlet for me—a medium through which I could convey theological musings. The eclectic compilation of posts that currently sits on this website reflects a glimpse of the multifaceted theological conundrums facing Christians, especially pastors of local churches.

However, the lack of overall direction related to this blog resulted in its neglect. I had no purpose for the blog other than committing thoughts in my head to writing, which meant I did not write a blog post unless something triggered a passionate outpouring of words on a topic. Reflecting on this digital platform, I believe infrequent, sporadic posting is a mishandling of the opportunity for me both to improve my thinking and writing through practice and to impact the thinking of those who happen to visit this blog.

Therefore, I am committing to a reinvention of this blog. My old posts are not going anywhere, but new posts will arrive shortly and frequently. I plan to fill this blog weekly—Lord willing—with posts titled, “A Christian Response to…” in which I reflect on current events through a biblical lens.

I want to be clear: I am not suggesting my response to a current event is the only Christian response. Rather, I wish to propose a manner of thinking about a current event that aligns with Scripture, recognizing differences exist in biblical interpretation and cultural contexts that could lead to additional Christian responses.

This blog is just as much for me as it is for you—if not more so. These weekly reflections will allow me to sharpen my thinking on the events that shape the lives of individuals in this country and around the world. So, even if nobody reads these posts, I’m still benefiting from the experience. The goal is not readers—the goal is a nuanced approach to current events through the lens of Scripture. If more people join me on the endeavor, then praise the Lord!

With that being said, I hope you will join me as we explore what Scripture says regarding the political, criminal, economic, and social events of our day.
